Two-part course held on March 18 and March 25, 2015
10:00 am to 3:30 pm both days, catered lunch included.
$75 individual; $35 additional person; $50 apprentice/student; FREE journeypersons; $45 per single-day registration
Major topics covered will include:
- Properties of soil--testing soil, soil husbandry, composting;
- Adding value to crops and marketing;
- Organic certification;
- Crop rotation and green manures;
- Insects and diseases;
- Weed management;
- Farmer presentation;
- Open discussion and wrap-up.
Lectures by Eric Sideman, MOFGA’s Vegetable Specialist. Guest lecturers, including local farmers, will also speak and join the discussion.
